Events & Attractions in Bere Regis, the Isle of Purbeck & Dorset

The Old Mill B&B in Bere Regis is perfectly situated for those wanting to explore Dorset. It is less than 10 minutes' drive from Monkey World and the world-renowned Tank Museum at Bovington army camp.

There is a lot to do right on our doorstep, from visiting the farm animals in our paddocks to exploring Bere Regis village and its two traditional village pubs. You can walk through May's Wood which was created by Queen guitarist, Brian May, to Black Hill Heath, a nature reserve and SSSI, home to rare species including the Dartford Warbler and the Sand Lizard.

Our beautiful medieval village church of St John the Baptist has the tomb of the real Turberville family who were the inspiration for Thomas Hardy's 'Tess of the D'Urbervilles'. It also has a unique carved roof which dates from C1500, featuring the Twelve Apostles.

If you're looking for an energetic stay, we have the wonderful Jurassic Coast and the Purbeck Hills to explore either on foot or by bicycle just minutes from our B&B in Bere Regis.

The village is at the western terminus of the A31 road (Guildford - Bere Regis), where it joins the A35 (Southampton - Honiton), so we are a perfect stopover place for those heading to and from the West Country.

Bere Regis is also conveniently situated for passengers using the Poole Ferries to travel to/from France and the Channel Islands.

Please also see our event calendar to find out what's on throughout the year.
